The market sits right beside St Stephen’s Cathedral, with Austrian crafts and stalls around the cathedral. It is among the first of the season and usually runs from early November to 26 December.
The Christmas market at Am Hof opens from 13 November to 23 December 2026 in Vienna’s first district. More than 70 exhibitors offer crafts, gifts and food. Market stalls close at 9 pm daily, while food stalls remain open until 10 pm.
The Altwiener Christkindlmarkt on Freyung opens daily from 10 am to 9 pm between 14 November and 23 December 2026. It features crafts and an Advent programme; the organiser says the 2026 programme will be published from mid-October.
The Christmas village on Maria-Theresien-Platz, between the two major museums, offers crafts and food from 20 November to 26 December 2026. It opens at 11 am on weekdays and 10 am at weekends, with shorter hours from 24 to 26 December.
