Vienna Running Collective meets every Friday at 7 am at kilometre zero of Prater Hauptallee by Praterstern for a fartlek session. Drills start at 6:45 am; there is no sign-up or membership fee. The October dates follow the published weekly schedule. The map pin marks the entrance to the avenue as a guide; confirm the meeting spot with the group.
The art and antiques market at Am Hof offers rarities, paintings, historical prints, coins and other collectables on Fridays and Saturdays. It is held in the historic city centre and runs during the day until mid-November.

Children’s clothing, toys and women’s fashion are the focus of this combined KIDS & WOMAN flea market. It runs from 9 am to 1 pm in the car park by Marxhalle. The organiser lists a new entrance at the corner of Baumgasse and Hermine-Jursa-Gasse. Visitor admission is €2, with free entry for children through age 14. The outdoor market is scheduled to operate in all weather.
Fit for Brain Run starts at 2 pm on 17 October on Prater Hauptallee by Stadionbad. The 5 and 10 km distances are open to runners and walkers, with entry fees supporting stroke care. Online entry closes on 15 October at noon; in-person entry is also available on race day from 11 am to 1 pm. The map pin marks Stadionbad; the start is on the avenue outside.
Vienna Trail Run starts at Cobenzl on 18 October with 7.5, 16 and 24.7 km routes. The races start at 9:00, 9:30 and 10:20 am. All three distances are sold out according to the organiser.
This community half marathon starts and finishes at DASGYM. Participants meet at 9 am before setting off shortly before 10 am for 21 kilometres along the Danube Island. The planned pace is about 6:30 to 7:00 minutes per kilometre with three breaks. Participants should have completed a continuous 10 km run before.

Hannes Gröblacher’s installation in the Kunstzelle in WUK’s courtyard draws on fragments of overheard phone calls. At the opening on 23 September at 7 pm, visitors can join a performance that passes these fragments between people. The installation remains accessible until 6 November during WUK opening hours.
The puzzle rally guides participants of all ages through the Allied Quarter with eight questions. Puzzle sheets can be picked up and returned during opening hours at the GB* district office on Nordbahnstraße; a small gift awaits after finding the correct solution.

At the weekly flea market next to Naschmarkt, around 400 private and commercial sellers offer antiques, second-hand goods, and curiosities. In September 2026, it takes place on all four Saturdays starting at 6:30 AM; entry is free. Saturdays, 6:30 am–3 pm; closed on public holidays. This ongoing market is listed here through the end of 2026.
GOTA Running Club meets at 9 am on Sundays at GOTA Coffee Experts, Mariahilfer Straße 192. Two groups run towards Schönbrunn and back at approximately 7 or 5 minutes per kilometre. Optional breakfast follows, with limited places. The October dates follow the club’s published weekly Sunday schedule; check the current club calendar before heading out.

Founders Running Club meets at 10 am on Sundays at Brenner in Superbude Prater for a social 5 km run. October meetups are listed for the 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th; check the current Meetup listing before going.
RunTogetherNow holds a free, open running session in the Prater on Mondays at 5:30 pm. Meet at Rustenschacherallee 3–5. New runners are explicitly welcome.
Bernd Watzka reads humorous and satirical poems centred on his eccentric Viennese character Herlicek. The free series travels through parks, inns, cafés and a district hall across several Vienna neighbourhoods.

The pumpkin festival at Siebenbrunnenplatz offers crafts, face painting and pumpkin carving for children. A torchlight procession leaves for Reumannhof at 5 pm, and the free neighbourhood event closes with pumpkin soup back on the square.

Schwarzenberggarten / Theater im Park, 1030
A walk through Schwarzenberggarten combines light installations, sound and contemporary art. Allow roughly 1 to 1.5 hours. Entry requires a ticket for a specific time slot; start times change during the season. The route is outdoors and generally operates in winter weather. It has no steps but includes slopes; pushchairs are allowed. The official shop lists entry slots from 23 October through 10 January.
The Am Himmel Pumpkin Festival combines a farmers’ market with more than 200 pumpkin varieties and seasonal food. Families can carve pumpkins and make kites; the three-day festival on the meadow takes place in all weather.
At the Vienna Safety Festival, emergency and aid organisations present their work on City Hall Square. The free programme runs from 9 am to 4 pm on both days.

Wienläuft hosts 3, 6, 9 and 12 km runs at Spenadlwiese on Austria’s national holiday. The programme runs from 9 am to 2 pm and includes children’s races.
Ottakring’s harvest festival brings a family programme to the square by the U3 terminus from 30 October to 1 November. A slide, trampoline, children’s rides, face painting and pumpkin carving are planned, alongside food and drinks. The district head opens the festival on Friday at 3 pm. Admission is free. The event will be cancelled in bad weather.
Vienna Halloween Run turns the Prater Hauptallee into a spooky course with children’s races and 2.5 and 5 km runs. Bib collection at Praterzelt opens at 3:30 pm; the first race starts later.
The Christmas market in Schönbrunn Palace’s forecourt runs from 6 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, with crafts, regional food and family activities. It opens daily from 10 am to 9 pm until 23 December, with shorter hours over Christmas and New Year.
The Christmas market beside St Stephen’s Cathedral runs from 6 November to 26 December 2026. Stalls offer Austrian crafts, gifts and food. Regular hours are 11 am to 9 pm daily, with special hours over Christmas.
Imperial Lights opens on 6 November with an evening light trail through the Schönbrunn Palace Gardens. The walk features installations created for the site and a sound and light show, and takes about 60 to 90 minutes. It opens daily from 4:30 to 10 pm, with last entry at 8:30 pm, and closes on 24 December. Entrance is through Meidling Gate. Tickets are required; the organiser currently offers a waitlist.

Planting field on Telephonweg, 1220
Families and other visitors can help plant new trees and shrubs at the city’s planting event on 7 November, from 10 am to 3 pm. The site is a field on Telephonweg between Simonsgasse and Rosenbergstraße in Donaustadt. Participation is free. The map marks the orientation point linked by the city on Telephonweg.

Blumengärten Hirschstetten, 1220
Vienna’s municipal gardeners present their Christmas exhibition at Blumengärten Hirschstetten from 12 November to 20 December 2026. An Advent market with more than 50 stalls accompanies the floral displays. It opens Thursday to Sunday from 10 am to 8 pm, plus 7 and 8 December.
Winter im MQ opens in the main courtyard at 6:30 pm on 12 November 2026. From 13 November to 23 December, punch and food stalls run from 4 to 11 pm on weekdays and from 2 to 11 pm at weekends and on public holidays. The programme also includes the MQ curling rink, Winterrace and five announced MQ Tunes concerts.
The Christmas market at Am Hof opens from 13 November to 23 December 2026 in Vienna’s first district. More than 70 exhibitors offer crafts, gifts and food. Market stalls close at 9 pm daily, while food stalls remain open until 10 pm.
The Wiener Christkindlmarkt opens in front of Vienna City Hall from 13 November to 26 December 2026. Stalls offer crafts, gifts, food and drinks. Regular hours are 10 am to 10 pm daily; on 24 December the market closes at 6:30 pm.
Weihnachtszauber Schwarzenbergplatz opens for the first time in 2026 around the Hochstrahlbrunnen fountain. Stalls offer crafts and food from 13 November to 26 December. Hours are 11 am to 9 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 9 pm at weekends, with shorter hours from 24 to 26 December.
ART ADVENT in front of Karlskirche runs from 13 November to 23 December 2026. The crafts market organised by divina art opens daily from noon to 8 pm; food stalls remain open until 9 pm according to Vienna’s tourism office. The daily 2026 programme will be announced separately.
The Spittelberg Christmas Market opens in the streets of Vienna’s seventh district from 13 November to 23 December 2026. Craft and food stalls run from 2 to 9:30 pm on weekdays and from 11 am to 9:30 pm at weekends and on public holidays. The 2026 children’s programme has not yet been published.
The Christmas village at the University of Vienna campus opens in the old General Hospital from 13 November to 23 December 2026. It combines crafts, food and activities for children. Daily hours vary by weekday, and the market closes at 8 pm on 23 December.

Türkenschanzpark, Eingang Peter-Jordan-Straße / Dänenstraße, 1180
The Christmas market in Türkenschanzpark opens from 13 November to 23 December 2026 near the Peter-Jordan-Straße/Dänenstraße entrance. Food stalls and the children’s carousel run from 3 to 10 pm on weekdays and noon to 10 pm at weekends and on public holidays; craft stalls close at 9 pm. Several music and family performances have already been announced.
The Hernals lantern parade starts at Dornerplatz at 5 pm on 13 November. Families walk with lanterns, music and St Martin on horseback along Kalvarienberggasse to Bartholomäusplatz, where bread is shared. The Hernals district office organises this free event with Neighbourhood Centre 17 and local partners.
Move for Health combines a charity run with free exercise activities at the Otto Wagner complex on 14 November. The organiser lists 2.5 and 5 km distances, a 9 am to 1 pm event window and an entry fee of €20–25 for the run. Free movement activities on the lawn before Pavilion 12 run from 10 am to 1 pm. The run supports EndÖ and the Movember Foundation.
More than 170 independent labels and makers show fashion, jewellery, ceramics, furniture and stationery at the kunst & design markt in the Ottakringer Brewery. Food trucks complement the stalls. The market opens from 11 am to 7 pm on 14 November and 11 am to 6 pm on 15 November. Tickets are sold at the door; children under 14 enter free.
The Altwiener Christkindlmarkt on Freyung opens daily from 10 am to 9 pm between 14 November and 23 December 2026. It features crafts and an Advent programme; the organiser says the 2026 programme will be published from mid-October.
The K&K Christmas market by the Upper Belvedere runs from 20 November to 31 December. Up to 35 stalls offer crafts and food inspired by the imperial era. Regular hours are 11 am to 9 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 9 pm at weekends and on public holidays; on 24 and 31 December it closes at 5 pm. A cultural programme is announced, but individual performance dates have not yet been published.
The Christmas village on Maria-Theresien-Platz, between the two major museums, offers crafts and food from 20 November to 26 December 2026. It opens at 11 am on weekdays and 10 am at weekends, with shorter hours from 24 to 26 December.
The Wintermarkt at Riesenradplatz runs from 20 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, with food stalls, attractions and a stage. Admission to the market is free. The organiser says the concert programme will be published in October; special hours apply at Christmas and on New Year’s Eve.
Vienna’s New Year’s Eve Trail runs from 2 pm on 31 December 2026 until 2 am on New Year’s Day. Music, dancing and food are spread across several city-centre squares, including Stephansplatz, Freyung and Graben. Admission is free; the map pin marks Stephansplatz as one of the venues.

Schlosspark Schönbrunn, 1130
The Vienna Philharmonic holds its Summer Night Concert in the gardens of Schönbrunn Palace on Friday, 11 June 2027. Admission to the open-air concert is free and no ticket is required. The start time and musical programme have yet to be announced.
Donauinselfest is scheduled for 25–27 June 2027. The multi-day festival on Vienna’s Donauinsel features music and other activities. The 2027 stage programme and daily hours will appear on the organiser’s website.
Yoga Junkies Festival returns to the gardens of Schloss Hetzendorf on 24 and 25 July 2027. The outdoor festival centres on yoga and shared experiences. The organiser has confirmed both dates and the venue; the line-up will follow.
The Perseids peak on the night of 12–13 August 2027, according to the American Meteor Society. The meteor shower can be seen from Vienna under clear skies, though city lights and the bright Moon may hide fainter meteors. A dark spot with an open view of the sky gives you the best chance of seeing them.
Liquid Market returns to Wild im West on Gunoldstraße from 2 to 4 September 2027. The festival centres on cocktails and bar culture. The organiser has confirmed the venue and all three dates; the detailed programme will follow.
Volksstimmefest takes place on 4 and 5 September 2027 at Jesuitenwiese in Vienna’s Prater. The two-day open-air festival offers three stages with music and culture, political initiatives and food. Admission is free. The organiser has yet to publish the detailed 2027 programme and daily opening hours.
Buskers Festival Wien brings street performance to Karlsplatz from 10 to 12 September 2027. The organising association has announced the dates and venue; the detailed programme will be published later.
Ottakringer Kirtag returns to the old centre of Ottakring around its parish church from 10 to 12 September 2027. Food stalls, rides and live music are part of this long-running neighbourhood fair. The detailed 2027 programme and opening hours have yet to be announced.
Vienna Night Run returns on 16 September 2027 for a five-kilometre lap of Vienna’s Ring Road. The start is on Universitätsring by Rathausplatz, the finish is on Dr.-Karl-Renner-Ring near Parliament, and the start and finish area is at Rathausplatz. The organiser lists individual entry from €38 plus a €1 booking fee until the end of 2026. The wave start times are not yet clearly attributable to the 2027 edition because an old 2026 note remains on the page.

Mostly from May to September. June brings the Summer Night Concert at Schönbrunn and the Donauinselfest; in July and August there are free Kultursommer stages in the parks and the film festival on Rathausplatz. Autumn has harvest festivals and Heuriger weekends, winter the Christmas markets.
