Curation

How we curate events

We choose events so you can decide faster: clear details, useful sources, and a selection that fits real plans.

Selection criteria

We look for a concrete date, a useful location, a source we can verify, and a reason to care beyond a bare calendar entry. Local culture, music, outdoor ideas, free events, and formats that are easy to plan together are especially relevant.

What makes it into the radar

Vienna Event Radar favors selected event information over endless listings. We add short editorial context, keep an eye on current details, and link directly to the original source whenever possible.

Radar and stage listings

For new listings, we place individual performances and concerts from venue programmes, such as those at the Konzerthaus or Burgtheater, in our separate stage section. The radar focuses on selected standalone experiences such as festivals, markets, exhibitions and workshops. A festival may appear in the radar while its individual performances appear in the stage listings.

Avoiding duplicate listings

Before adding a listing, we compare more than its title and date. We also check performance dates, times, venue, original source, alternative names and links to a series or festival across both the radar and stage listings. Ambiguous matches receive an individual review.

Freshness and sources

We research new events using published information from organizers and venues, check specific dates, and compare new entries with existing events. Dates, prices, and availability can still change at short notice. The organizer's original source is always the authoritative reference.
